Drawing of the Rod and Gun Club in Everglades City. The caption on the front reads "ROD AND GUN CLUB, EVERGLADES, FLA. ROYAL PALMS IN FOREGROUND. 119833". Postmarked February 27, 1929. A personal note is written on the reverse from Bruce to Miss Florence Smith, later Florence Thomason, Barron Collier's secretary.

Everglades street car in service, c1928.  The town had the distinction of operating the only street car on the west coast of Florida south of Tampa.  The battery powered car ran between Everglades and Port DuPont, Everglades City. 


The battery-powered Everglades City electric streetcar parked on the tracks and apparently retired from service. Fire damaged the trolley on June 27, 1928 and the hurricane of 1929 did considerable damage to its tracks, ending its service. Operated by the Everglades Railway Light and Power Company until 1929. The original caption reads "Old Everglades Streetcar At Rest."


The battery-powered Everglades City electric streetcar parked in front of the post office building on Broadway West. It was operated by the Everglades Railway Light and Power Company until 1929. The orignial caption reads "Old Everglades Streetcar".

Real photo postcard of the Community Center on Broadway West in Everglades City, built in 1924, where motion pictures were shown, and dances were held for the Tamiami Trail workers. The inscription on the back reads "Community House. Pictures 3 times a week-church-dances-etc."
