The Post Office building at the end of Broadway West in Everglades City with a group of people casually gathered on the front steps, reading mail and posting letters. The scene is prior to President Truman's arrival to dedicate Everglades National Park on December 6, 1947. The typed caption on the reverse reads " This little post office will be swamped with "dedication day" mail. More than 100 professional stamp brokers alone will be on hand to get the Everglades City postmark on special commemoratory literature on the day of the Everglades Park dedication. A special stamp will be issued to commemorate the occasion."
