Mrs. Earl Baum (left) with another lady (unidentified) looking into an artesian well that flowed just south of the Old Naples Hotel (seen in background). Dated February 1922 on reverse. The stream flowed into the Gordon River between 12th and 13th Avenue South. According to Dr. Earl Baum, who identified this photo, this was the "colored quarters" and the stream was polluted by their privies. Later, Henry Watkins built the hotel's swimming pool and Seminole Room on the site.
